Remote Environmental Scientist - Mining Compliance

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for new and existing mining projects.
• Develop and implement environmental management plans (EMPs) to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Monitor environmental parameters such as air and water quality, and biodiversity.
• Investigate environmental incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, stakeholders, and internal teams on environmental matters.
• Prepare detailed environmental reports and ensure adherence to reporting deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in environmental management, ideally within the extractive industries or heavy industry.
• In-depth knowledge of UK environmental legislation relevant to mining and land development.
• Experience with environmental modeling software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills, suitable for remote collaboration.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
