Remote Family Support Advisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and empathetic Remote Family Support Advisor to join their forward-thinking Community & Social Care team. This is a fully remote position, enabling you to provide crucial support to families across the country without the need for geographical constraints. You will offer guidance, resources, and intervention to families facing a variety of challenges, promoting positive relationships and improving outcomes. This role is ideal for a professional who can effectively build rapport and provide support through digital channels, working from their own home base.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct remote needs assessments of family situations using virtual communication tools.
• Provide guidance, advice, and emotional support to families via phone, video calls, and email.
• Develop and implement family support plans tailored to individual needs and circumstances.
• Connect families with appropriate external resources, such as parenting classes, counselling, and financial aid.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and progress on the CRM system.
• Collaborate with internal team members and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to family support.

Requirements

• Proven experience in family support, social work, counselling, or a closely related field.
• Strong understanding of family dynamics, child development, and common challenges faced by families.
• Excellent communication, active listening, and empathy skills, adapted for remote interaction.
• Proficiency in using virtual communication platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams) and digital record-keeping systems.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and maintain professional boundaries in a remote setting.
• Demonstrated ability to assess risk and implement safeguarding procedures remotely.
