About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Remote Fleet Operations Manager to oversee their expanding delivery fleet. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless and efficient operation of all transport logistics, managing driver performance, and upholding safety standards. You will be responsible for the strategic planning and day-to-day management of the fleet, utilizing technology to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs. This position offers the chance to lead a dedicated team remotely, drive innovation in fleet management, and contribute directly to the company's success by ensuring reliable and timely service delivery across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies for fleet optimization , resource allocation, and cost management.
- Manage and mentor a team of remote dispatchers and drivers, fostering a culture of performance and safety.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and minimizing downtime.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs ) related to fleet efficiency, delivery times, and operational costs.
- Liaise with suppliers and service providers to negotiate contracts and ensure the availability of necessary resources.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in fleet management or logistics operations, preferably in a remote capacity.
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations, safety standards, and vehicle maintenance.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with experience managing remote teams.
- Proficiency in using fleet management software, GPS tracking, and data analysis tools.
- Excellent strategic planning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
