About the Role
Our client is looking for a strategic and experienced Remote Fleet Operations Manager to oversee their national fleet operations from a home-based setting. This crucial role involves managing all aspects of fleet performance, efficiency, and compliance across the UK. You will be responsible for implementing best practices, driving cost-saving initiatives, and ensuring the fleet meets the demands of the business and its customers. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize fleet performance, reduce operational costs, and improve efficiency.
- Oversee the management of the entire fleet, including vehicle maintenance, scheduling, and driver performance.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental policies.
- Manage relationships with third-party suppliers, including maintenance providers and fuel card administrators.
- Lead and motivate a remote team of fleet coordinators and drivers, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Analyze fleet data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for enhancement.
Requirements
- Proven experience in fleet management or senior logistics operations, with a strong understanding of the transportation industry.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a dispersed team effectively in a remote work environment.
- In-depth knowledge of fleet management software, telematics, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
