About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Remote Forestry Sustainability Consultant to join their advisory team. This role focuses on promoting and implementing sustainable practices within the forestry and agriculture sectors across various regions. You will be responsible for assessing current forestry operations, developing strategic plans for environmental stewardship, and ensuring compliance with national and international sustainability standards. As a remote position, you will leverage digital tools and communication platforms to engage with clients, conduct virtual assessments, and provide expert guidance. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct remote audits and assessments of forestry management plans and practices against sustainability criteria.
• Develop and implement tailored sustainability strategies and action plans for diverse forestry projects.
• Advise clients on best practices for biodiversity conservation, soil health, water management, and climate change mitigation in forestry .
• Ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations, certifications (e.g., FSC, PEFC), and industry standards.
• Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and recommendations for clients and stakeholders.
• Facilitate training sessions and workshops (virtual) on sustainable forestry management.

Requirements

• A Master’s degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in sustainable forestry management, consultancy, or environmental policy.
• In-depth knowledge of international forestry standards, certification schemes, and conservation principles.
• Proven ability to analyze complex environmental data and develop practical, evidence-based solutions.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
• Proficiency in using remote sensing data, GIS, and other digital tools for environmental assessment and monitoring.
