Remote Freight Forwarder

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned and proactive Remote Freight Forwarder to manage the complexities of international and domestic shipments from their home office. This role is critical in coordinating the movement of goods on behalf of shippers, arranging transportation by air, sea, and land, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with carriers and clients, negotiating rates, and resolving any transit-related issues. This position is ideal for an experienced professional who thrives in an independent, remote work environment and possesses a deep understanding of global logistics.

Key Responsibilities

• Arrange and manage the shipment of goods via air, sea, road, and rail, ensuring optimal routes and costs.
• Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and insurance forms.
• Negotiate freight rates and service agreements with carriers and service providers.
• Track shipments in real-time and provide regular updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Resolve any issues that arise during transit, such as delays, damage, or customs clearance problems.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, and other partners in the logistics chain.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Freight Forwarder or in a similar international logistics role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of shipping regulations, customs procedures, and Incoterms.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing carrier contracts.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to handle urgent situations effectively.
• Proficiency in freight forwarding software and general office applications.
