About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Remote Geophysical Data Analyst to join their globally distributed team, supporting exploration and operational efforts from anywhere in the United Kingdom . This role focuses on the interpretation of vast geophysical datasets, including seismic, magnetic, and gravity data, to identify potential mineral deposits and assess geological structures. You will work independently, leveraging cutting-edge software and analytical techniques to provide crucial insights that guide exploration strategy and minimize exploration risk. This is an ideal opportunity for a detail-oriented geophysicist who excels in remote work environments and is passionate about uncovering the Earth's hidden resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Process, interpret, and model diverse geophysical datasets (seismic, magnetic, gravity, electromagnetic).
- Identify and delineate potential areas of interest for mineral exploration based on geophysical signatures.
- Generate detailed reports and visualizations summarizing geophysical findings for exploration teams.
- Collaborate remotely with geologists and geophysicists to integrate geophysical data with other geological information.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in geophysical techniques, software, and data analysis methodologies.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of exploration models and targeting strategies.
Requirements
- A Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geophysics, Physics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in geophysical data interpretation , preferably within the mining or oil and gas sectors.
- Proficiency with industry-standard geophysical software packages (e.g., Petrel, OpendTect, Oasis Montaj).
- Strong understanding of physics principles and their application to geological exploration.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work effectively and independently in a remote work setting.
