Remote Geotechnical Engineer - Site Assessment

About the Role

Our client is actively recruiting a highly skilled Remote Geotechnical Engineer to join their expanding operations, focusing on site assessment for new mining projects . This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within the UK. You will play a crucial role in evaluating the geological stability and suitability of potential mining sites, providing essential data and analysis to guide project feasibility and development. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent analytical skills and the ability to manage complex projects independently, contributing to the responsible and efficient expansion of our client's global mining operations .

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct remote analysis of geological and geotechnical data for potential mining sites.
• Interpret soil and rock mechanics data to assess slope stability, foundation requirements, and seismic risks.
• Develop detailed geotechnical reports, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies for exploration and development phases.
• Collaborate virtually with field geologists, engineers, and project managers to ensure data integrity and project alignment.
• Utilize advanced geotechnical modeling software to simulate ground conditions and performance.
• Provide expert technical guidance on geotechnical aspects of mining infrastructure design and construction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with specific experience in the mining sector .
• Proficiency with geotechnical software such as GeoStudio, Plaxis, or similar.
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and hydrogeology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration and report writing.
• Must have a reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.
