Remote Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join their remote-first team, supporting projects across the globe from their operational hub in Reading, Berkshire . In this role, you will provide expert analysis and consultancy on the geological and engineering properties of soil and rock for various mining and infrastructure projects . Your responsibilities will include analysing site investigation data, performing stability analyses, and developing mitigation strategies for geotechnical risks. Key Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical investigations and analyse soil and rock mechanics data.
• Conduct stability analyses for open-pit mines, underground excavations, and associated infrastructure.
• Develop design recommendations and mitigation strategies for geotechnical hazards such as landslides and subsidence.
• Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, specifications, and drawings.
• Collaborate remotely with project managers, geologists, and structural engineers to integrate geotechnical findings into overall project design.
• Utilize specialized geotechnical software for modelling and analysis.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in geotechnical engineering, with significant exposure to the mining sector .
• Proficiency in geotechnical software such as Plaxis, GeoStudio, or similar finite element analysis packages.
• Strong understanding of soil and rock mechanics, foundation design, and slope stability principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fully remote setting .
