About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Remote Golf Course Superintendent to oversee the meticulous maintenance and development of their premier golf facilities, managed entirely from a distance. This unique role requires exceptional organisational skills, a deep understanding of agronomy, and the ability to lead and manage grounds teams virtually. You will be responsible for ensuring the golf course is maintained to the highest standards, focusing on playing quality, turf health, and sustainable practices, all while providing expert oversight and strategic direction remotely. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining an exceptional playing surface and enhancing the overall guest experience for golfers utilising the Reading -area facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive course maintenance and agronomic plans, ensuring optimal turf health and playability.
- Manage and direct remote groundskeeping teams, providing clear instructions, support, and performance feedback.
- Oversee budgeting, procurement, and inventory management for all course maintenance operations.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and implement sustainable maintenance practices.
- Utilise technology and communication tools to effectively monitor course conditions and team progress from a distance.
- Plan and manage irrigation systems, pest control, and fertilization programmes.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
- Extensive knowledge of turfgrass science, pest management, and irrigation systems.
- Demonstrated experience in managing budgets and leading teams effectively, ideally with remote oversight.
- Strong understanding of golf course operations and playing surface requirements.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills suitable for a remote role.
