Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement solutions for grid modernization initiatives, including smart metering, automation, and advanced distribution management systems (ADMS).
- Analyze grid performance data to identify areas for improvement and recommend technology upgrades.
- Integrate distributed energy resources (DERs) such as solar, wind, and battery storage into the grid effectively and safely.
- Develop and test control strategies for grid stability, voltage control, and load management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, field operations, and project managers, in a remote setting.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in grid modernization and power systems engineering.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a specialization in Power Systems.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in power systems engineering, with a focus on grid modernization, smart grids, or distribution systems.
- Proficiency with power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD) and simulation tools.
- Knowledge of SCADA, communication protocols, and data analytics related to grid operations.
- Strong understanding of DER integration challenges and solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively and independently in a remote team environment.
