Remote Head of Sports Development

About the Role

Our client is looking for an inspiring and strategic Head of Sports Development to lead their initiatives across Edinburgh and beyond. This fully remote role will be instrumental in shaping and executing the organization's long-term strategy for fostering sports talent and participation. You will identify growth opportunities, develop programs, and build partnerships to expand the reach and impact of sports. This is a pivotal leadership position for an individual passionate about grassroots development and strategic growth in the sports sector, working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for sports development, focusing on talent identification, coaching, and community engagement.
• Identify new opportunities for program expansion and partnership building within the sports ecosystem.
• Manage budgets and resources effectively to support development initiatives.
• Oversee the recruitment, training, and management of development staff and volunteers.
• Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making data-driven adjustments to strategy.
• Represent the organization at industry events and build relationships with key stakeholders.

Requirements

• Extensive experience (10+ years) in sports development , program management, or a related leadership role within the sports industry.
• Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing strategic growth initiatives.
• Strong understanding of sports governance, funding, and community sports structures.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Public Policy, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
