About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a talented Remote Industrial Systems Engineer to contribute to their advanced manufacturing operations, serving the Reading area and beyond. This role focuses on the design, implementation, and optimisation of integrated industrial systems, utilising data-driven approaches and cutting-edge technologies. You will play a key part in enhancing efficiency, throughput, and quality across various production lines, all while working from the convenience of your home office. This fully remote position requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to collaborate effectively with distributed teams to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse existing industrial systems and processes to identify opportunities for efficiency gains, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
- Design and implement optimised production workflows, system layouts, and material flow strategies.
- Develop and apply simulation models to test and validate proposed system changes before implementation.
- Utilise Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate virtually with on-site engineering, operations, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration and execution of system upgrades.
- Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including process maps, technical specifications, and operational guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial engineering, systems design, or process optimisation within a manufacturing context.
- Strong proficiency in using simulation software, CAD tools, and data analysis platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and experience in applying Six Sigma methodologies.
- Excellent remote communication, collaboration, and project management capabilities.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a remote setting.
