About the Role
Our client is looking for a proactive and highly skilled Remote Information Security Engineer to bolster their cybersecurity defenses. Operating entirely remotely, you will be crucial in designing, implementing, and maintaining the security infrastructure that protects our digital assets. This role requires a deep understanding of modern security threats and the ability to architect resilient solutions from afar. You will work independently and collaboratively with a distributed team to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data, playing a vital role in our ongoing commitment to robust cybersecurity practices regardless of physical location.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage robust security solutions across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Implement and maintain security tools such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) systems.
- Develop and automate security processes and workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests to identify and mitigate risks.
- Respond to security incidents, perform forensic analysis, and develop remediation plans.
- Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, recommending proactive measures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a cybersecurity engineering or architecture role.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and tool development.
- In-depth knowledge of network security protocols, operating system security, and cloud security best practices (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with SIEM tools, vulnerability management platforms, and incident response procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fully remote team setting.
