Remote Information Security Manager (GDPR Specialist)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Remote Information Security Manager with a specialization in data protection and GDPR compliance. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to lead the charge in ensuring the organisation meets its privacy and security obligations globally. You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust data protection strategies, conducting privacy impact assessments, and managing compliance initiatives. This role demands strong leadership, deep legal and technical knowledge of data privacy regulations, and the ability to effectively manage security and compliance remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive data protection strategies aligned with GDPR and other relevant privacy regulations.
• Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new projects and systems.
• Oversee data breach response procedures and ensure timely reporting to regulatory authorities.
• Provide guidance and training on data privacy best practices to employees across the organisation.
• Manage relationships with data protection authorities and external legal counsel.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in information security management with a strong focus on data privacy and GDPR.
• In-depth knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and other international data protection laws.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing privacy programs.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for a remote leadership role.
• Relevant certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CISM, or CRISC are highly preferred.
