Remote IT Infrastructure Technician

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Remote IT Infrastructure Technician to join their established IT department, operating entirely remotely. This position is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, security, and performance for all employees. You will be responsible for managing servers, networks, cloud environments, and providing advanced technical support from your home office. Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain server infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud (e.g., AWS, Azure), ensuring high availability and performance.
• Manage network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls, to ensure secure and efficient connectivity for remote users.
• Monitor IT systems for performance issues, security threats, and potential failures, implementing proactive solutions.
• Provide advanced remote technical support to end-users, diagnosing and resolving complex hardware, software, and network issues.
• Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and documentation related to infrastructure management and security.
• Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and the deployment of new technologies across the organization.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an IT Infrastructure Technician , System Administrator, or similar role in a remote setting.
• Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in network configuration and troubleshooting, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
• Experience with cybersecurity best practices, endpoint protection, and data backup solutions.
• Excellent remote troubleshooting skills and the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach to providing remote IT support in Nottinghamshire .
