Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of bioinformatics pipelines for large-scale biological data analysis.
• Manage and mentor a team of bioinformaticians, overseeing project execution and scientific quality.
• Collaborate with biologists, geneticists, and other researchers to define analytical strategies and interpret results.
• Develop and apply statistical and computational methods to analyze genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data.

• Ensure data integrity, reproducibility, and efficient data management practices within the team.

Requirements

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in bioinformatics, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and Perl, and experience with shell scripting.
• Extensive experience with bioinformatics databases, tools, and software packages (e.g., BLAST, SAMtools, GATK).
• Deep understanding of statistical genetics, genomics, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis.
• Proven ability to manage projects, mentor staff, and communicate complex scientific concepts effectively in a remote setting.
