Remote Lead Civil Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Lead Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team. This senior role is responsible for leading the design and delivery of complex infrastructure projects from inception to completion, working collaboratively with clients and project teams across the UK. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, a strong leader, and possesses exceptional technical expertise in infrastructure design. This position offers the flexibility of working from home while contributing to significant national projects, including those in the Reading area, and guiding a team of talented engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall design and delivery strategy for major civil infrastructure projects, managing all technical aspects.
• Provide expert technical leadership and mentorship to a team of civil and infrastructure engineers working remotely.
• Oversee the development of site infrastructure designs, including drainage, utilities, roads, and earthworks.
• Ensure all designs meet stringent quality, safety, and environmental standards and regulatory requirements.
• Engage proactively with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure project success and foster strong relationships.
• Review and approve technical documentation, reports, and designs produced by the project team.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Significant experience (10+ years) in leading the design and delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Expertise in drainage design (SUDs), highways, utilities coordination, and earthworks.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design and modeling software.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage remote engineering teams effectively.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is essential.
