Remote Lead Environmental Engineer - Energy Projects

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly experienced and forward-thinking Lead Environmental Engineer to join their fully remote team, specializing in energy projects . This senior position will involve overseeing environmental impact assessments, developing mitigation strategies, and ensuring regulatory compliance for a range of energy infrastructure developments, from renewable installations to traditional power facilities. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for new energy projects.
• Develop and implement environmental management plans (EMPs) to ensure compliance with legislation and company policy.
• Advise project teams on environmental best practices, permitting requirements, and mitigation measures.
• Conduct site audits and inspections to monitor environmental performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Manage relationships with regulatory agencies, environmental consultants, and other stakeholders.
• Mentor and guide junior environmental engineers and specialists within the remote team.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental engineering or consultancy, with a significant focus on the energy sector .
• Demonstrated experience in managing EIAs and obtaining environmental permits for large-scale projects.
• In-depth knowledge of UK and EU environmental legislation relevant to energy development.
• Strong project management and communication skills, with proven ability to lead remote teams effectively.
