Remote Lead Formulation Scientist

About the Role

Our client, a progressive pharmaceutical company, is seeking an accomplished Remote Lead Formulation Scientist to spearhead their drug product development initiatives. Working from a remote location near Bradford , you will take the lead in designing, developing, and optimizing pharmaceutical formulations for a range of innovative drug candidates. This role is crucial for advancing therapeutic products through the development pipeline, ensuring stability, bioavailability, and effective delivery. You will leverage your extensive expertise to guide formulation strategies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the successful commercialization of new medicines in a remote-first environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the formulation development of various dosage forms (e.g., oral solids, injectables, topicals).
• Design and execute experimental plans to characterize drug substances and develop stable, effective formulations.
• Optimize formulation parameters to achieve desired pharmacokinetic profiles and product performance.
• Conduct stability studies and develop analytical methods for formulation characterization.
• Collaborate with process development, analytical development, and regulatory affairs teams.
• Provide scientific leadership and mentorship to a team of formulation scientists.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Demonstrated expertise in formulation of small molecules and/or biologics.
• Strong knowledge of pre-formulation, formulation strategies, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with various analytical techniques and equipment used in formulation science.
• Excellent project management and communication skills, with a proven ability to lead remote teams.
