Remote Lead Geologist - Subsurface Interpretation

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Lead Geologist to join their fully remote subsurface team. This critical role focuses on detailed geological interpretation, reservoir characterization, and providing expert geological support for exploration and production activities across various global basins. You will lead geological efforts, mentor junior geologists, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify and evaluate hydrocarbon prospects. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the geological interpretation of seismic, well log, and core data to build comprehensive subsurface models.
• Evaluate and rank exploration and development opportunities, providing geological risk assessments.
• Develop and maintain geological models for field development planning and reserve estimation.
• Mentor and guide junior geologists, fostering a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate closely with reservoir engineers, geophysicists, and drilling engineers to integrate geological insights into project workflows.
• Present geological findings and recommendations to senior management and external partners.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in geological exploration and subsurface interpretation, preferably within Oil & Gas .
• Extensive experience with geological modeling software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite) and seismic interpretation techniques.
• Proven ability to lead projects and mentor team members in a remote setting.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
