About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Lead Metallurgist to join their innovative team, operating entirely remotely with a base location in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire . This senior role is pivotal in driving advancements in mineral processing and metal recovery across diverse mining operations. You will lead research and development initiatives, optimize existing plant operations, and provide expert technical consultation to project teams globally, ensuring the efficient and sustainable extraction of valuable commodities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and optimization of mineral processing and hydrometallurgical circuits.
• Conduct laboratory and pilot plant test work to evaluate ore characteristics and processing routes.
• Develop metallurgical models and simulations to predict plant performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Provide expert technical support and guidance to plant operations teams worldwide.
• Oversee the implementation of new metallurgical technologies and process improvements.
• Author comprehensive metallurgical reports, research papers, and project proposals.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in extractive metallurgy, preferably within the mining and metals industry .
• Expertise in flotation, leaching, solid-liquid separation, and other relevant processing techniques.
• Proficiency with metallurgical simulation software (e.g., METSIM, HSC Chemistry).
• Proven track record in leading R&D projects and delivering measurable improvements in recovery and efficiency.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with experience mentoring technical teams remotely.
