Remote Lead Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Lead Process Safety Engineer to join their established team and lead critical safety initiatives from a remote capacity. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing robust process safety management systems and programs to ensure the highest standards of safety across all operations. This role is crucial for mitigating risks, preventing incidents, and fostering a strong safety culture within the organization, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. You will drive best practices in process safety engineering, contributing significantly to the company's commitment to operational excellence and the well-being of its workforce, all managed from your home office.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and procedures.
• Lead and conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA.
• Oversee the management of change (MOC) process, ensuring all safety implications are evaluated.
• Investigate process safety incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and deliver process safety training to relevant personnel across the organization.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., Seveso Directive).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in process safety engineering, with significant leadership experience.
• In-depth knowledge of HAZOP, LOPA , and other risk assessment methodologies.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing PSM systems in the Oil & Gas sector .
• Excellent understanding of relevant safety regulations and standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to manage teams and projects remotely.
