Remote Logistics Planner

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and experienced Remote Logistics Planner to manage and optimize their transportation network from anywhere within the UK. This role is critical in ensuring that goods are moved efficiently, cost-effectively, and on time. You will be responsible for planning routes, selecting carriers, negotiating rates, and managing the day-to-day execution of logistics operations. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule domestic and international shipments to optimize delivery times and costs.
• Identify and vet reliable transportation carriers, negotiating favourable contract terms and rates.
• Monitor shipment progress, proactively addressing any delays or issues to ensure on-time delivery.
• Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities, including shipment details, costs, and carrier performance.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless coordination of logistics operations.
• Develop and implement strategies to reduce transportation costs and improve overall supply chain efficiency.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Logistics Planning or a similar transportation management role.
• Strong understanding of transportation modes, regulations, and market trends.
• Proficiency in using logistics planning software and TMS (Transportation Management Systems).
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a remote , autonomous environment.
