About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Manufacturing Systems Engineer to contribute to their innovative projects, supporting operations across various sites including those in Reading . This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to the design, implementation, and optimisation of manufacturing systems. You will leverage your expertise in industrial engineering principles and digital tools to enhance production efficiency, quality, and scalability. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proven track record of driving significant improvements in manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimise manufacturing systems and processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Conduct virtual analyses of production lines, identifying bottlenecks and proposing data-driven solutions.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate remotely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality assurance.
- Utilize simulation software and data analytics tools to model and validate system designs and improvements.
- Stay current with emerging manufacturing technologies and automation solutions to drive innovation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in manufacturing systems engineering or a closely related role.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing , Six Sigma, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Proficiency in process simulation software and advanced data analysis techniques.
- Excellent remote communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with automation and robotics in manufacturing is highly desirable.
