Remote Mechanical Design Engineer - Consumer Electronics

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical enclosures, mechanisms, and components for a range of consumer electronic products using 3D CAD software .
• Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for manufacturing.
• Collaborate closely with industrial designers, electrical engineers, and firmware teams in a virtual environment to integrate mechanical designs with other product components.
• Perform design validation through prototyping, testing, and analysis to ensure product performance, durability, and compliance.
• Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews to optimize for mass production.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes relevant to consumer electronics.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical design, specifically within the consumer electronics industry .
• Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo) and experience with PDM/PLM systems.
• Understanding of materials such as plastics, metals, and composites, and their applications in electronic devices.
• Experience with manufacturing processes like injection molding, die casting, and CNC machining.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills for effective remote work.
