Remote Metallurgical Consultant

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and independent Metallurgical Consultant to join their globally distributed team, operating entirely remotely. This role supports their diverse portfolio of projects within the mining industry , with a focus on areas relevant to Norwich, Norfolk, UK 's international trade connections. You will provide expert advice on mineral processing, extraction techniques, and metallurgical accounting to optimize recovery and improve plant efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a deep technical understanding of metallurgical processes and the ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations for clients, all within a remote-first working paradigm.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical consultation on mineral processing, hydrometallurgy, and pyrometallurgy for mining operations worldwide.
• Analyze metallurgical test data, plant performance metrics, and operational challenges to identify root causes and propose solutions.
• Develop and optimize metallurgical process designs, flowsheets, and operating parameters.
• Assist clients in troubleshooting processing issues, improving recovery rates, and reducing operating costs.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports, feasibility studies, and recommendations for clients in the mining sector .

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in metallurgical process development, operations, or consulting.
• Extensive knowledge of various ore types and their associated processing challenges.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and provide strategic advice.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills, with superior communication abilities for remote client engagement.
