Remote Mine Environmental Consultant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable Remote Mine Environmental Consultant to join their expanding team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to provide expert environmental guidance and support to our mining operations from your home office. You will be responsible for advising on environmental impact assessments, regulatory compliance, rehabilitation strategies, and sustainable mining practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, a deep understanding of the environmental challenges associated with mining, and the ability to work independently and effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for new and existing mining projects.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and local environmental legislation and permitting requirements.
• Develop and implement environmental management plans and monitoring programs.
• Advise on best practices for waste management, water management, and biodiversity protection in mining.
• Support mine closure and rehabilitation planning to ensure responsible land reclamation.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and internal teams on environmental matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in environmental consulting, with a significant focus on the mining or extractive industries.
• Thorough understanding of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and impact assessment methodologies.
• Experience with environmental modeling and monitoring techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and work autonomously in a remote setting.
