About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Remote Mine Planning Engineer to support their mining activities, including those in the Glasgow region. This position allows you to leverage your expertise in mine design and optimization from a remote location, contributing to the strategic development of mining projects. You will be responsible for creating short-term and long-term mine plans, optimizing resource recovery, and ensuring efficient production schedules. This role requires a forward-thinking approach and the ability to utilize advanced mine planning software to achieve operational targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed short-term and long-term mine plans using specialized software.
• Optimize mine layouts, production sequences, and equipment utilization to maximize resource recovery and minimize costs.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic analyses for new mining projects or expansions.
• Prepare mine plans, schedules, and production forecasts for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate with geological, engineering, and operational teams to integrate technical data into planning processes.
• Monitor mine performance against plan and recommend adjustments as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mine planning and design, with a strong understanding of various mining methods.
• Proficiency in mine planning software such as Deswik, Vulcan, or similar.
• Solid understanding of mine economics, geostatistics, and production management principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills suitable for a remote work environment.
