About the Role

This role is vital for developing long-term strategic mine plans that maximize resource recovery and operational efficiency while ensuring safety and environmental compliance. You will work with cross-functional teams globally, leveraging advanced planning software and geological data to create optimal mining strategies. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional who excels in strategic thinking and can effectively manage complex planning processes from a remote location.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize long-term mine plans (5-10+ years) for various mining projects.
• Utilize advanced mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, Vulcan, Whittle) for scheduling, sequencing, and economic evaluations.
• Collaborate with geological and engineering teams to integrate resource models and technical constraints into plans.
• Conduct economic analyses and sensitivity studies to evaluate mine plan viability and identify optimization opportunities.
• Ensure mine plans comply with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in mine planning and design, with a strong focus on strategic planning .
• Expertise in industry-standard mine planning software and optimization tools.
• Proven experience in conducting mine economic evaluations and feasibility studies.
• In-depth understanding of mining methods, operational constraints, and regulatory frameworks.
