Remote Mine Planning Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Remote Mine Planning Specialist to contribute to their global mining projects. This role is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from any location within the UK while playing a crucial part in strategic mine development. You will be responsible for creating and optimizing detailed mine plans, considering geological data, operational constraints, and economic factors. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mine engineering and planning software, with the ability to collaborate effectively with geographically dispersed teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a planning expert to leverage their skills and experience in a dynamic, remote-first environment, contributing significantly to project success without the need for daily office presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and optimize detailed mine plans , including short-term and long-term scheduling, production sequencing, and resource allocation.
• Utilize mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, Vulcan, Gemcom) to create 3D models and simulations of mine layouts and operations.
• Conduct economic evaluations and sensitivity analyses to assess the viability of different mine development scenarios.
• Collaborate closely with site-based operational teams, geologists, and engineers to ensure plans are practical and achievable.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations to communicate planning strategies and outcomes.
• Ensure all mine plans comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations across different jurisdictions.

Requirements

• Degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mine planning and design, with a focus on operational implementation.
• Advanced proficiency with industry-standard mine planning and modeling software.
• Strong understanding of mining methods, geotechnical principles , and resource estimation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team .
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
