About the Role

Our client is seeking a specialized Mine Ventilation Engineer to work remotely, contributing to their mining projects from their base near Brighton . This role is responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing mine ventilation systems to ensure safe and healthy working conditions, manage air quality, and control dust and gas levels. You will use advanced modeling software and your deep understanding of airflow dynamics in underground environments to support various mining operations. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement effective mine ventilation systems for underground mining operations.
• Conduct airflow and environmental simulations using specialized ventilation modeling software.
• Analyze ventilation network performance, identifying opportunities for optimization and energy efficiency.
• Develop strategies for dust control, gas dilution, and maintaining safe air quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support to site-based teams on ventilation practices and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations pertaining to mine ventilation.

Requirements

• Degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline with a focus on ventilation.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering , with a strong understanding of underground mining environments.
• Proficiency with mine ventilation modeling software such as Ventsim, Hugent, or similar .
• Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and air quality monitoring principles.
• Experience with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
