Remote Mine Ventilation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Remote Mine Ventilation Engineer to ensure optimal air quality and safety conditions in their underground mining operations globally. You will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing ventilation systems, managing air quality monitoring, and ensuring compliance with stringent health and safety standards. This role requires a strong understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and underground mining environments. It's a key position for ensuring the well-being of personnel and the efficient operation of mines, all managed from a fully remote setup.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, model, and optimize underground mine ventilation systems to provide fresh air and control contaminants.
• Conduct ventilation surveys, air quality monitoring, and analyze results to identify potential hazards.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations related to mine ventilation.
• Troubleshoot ventilation system issues and develop practical solutions for efficient operation.
• Collaborate with mine planning and operations teams to integrate ventilation strategies into mine design.
• Prepare technical reports, recommendations, and specifications for ventilation equipment and systems.

Requirements

• Degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on ventilation.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering, preferably in underground mining.
• Proficiency with mine ventilation simulation software (e.g., Ventsim, VentSim).
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and air quality control principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively independently and communicate complex technical information remotely.
