About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Mineral Processing Engineer to contribute to their innovative projects from anywhere in the world. This position focuses on optimizing the extraction and recovery of valuable minerals from ore through the design, development, and improvement of processing plants and techniques. You will leverage your expertise in metallurgy, chemical engineering, and process control to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact. This is an excellent opportunity for an expert to work flexibly, applying their knowledge to diverse mineral processing challenges without the constraints of a traditional office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, model, and optimize mineral processing circuits (e.g., crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching, smelting).
- Analyze process data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, recovery, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct pilot plant studies and scale-up process designs for new mineral commodities.
- Develop and implement process control strategies to ensure consistent product quality and operational stability.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and provide technical support to processing plant teams globally.
- Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in mineral processing and metallurgy.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in mineral processing plant design, operation, or optimization.
- Strong understanding of physical and chemical separation principles applicable to various minerals.
- Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, HSC Chemistry).
- Experience with data analysis tools and statistical process control.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills for remote collaboration.
