About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Remote Mining Engineer specializing in planning and design to join their forward-thinking organization, operating remotely from Reading . This role is critical for developing innovative and efficient mining plans for both underground and surface operations. You will leverage state-of-the-art software to create detailed mine designs, optimize production schedules, and conduct feasibility studies. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mine plans, including long-term and short-term production schedules.
• Design mine layouts, ventilation systems, and access routes for underground and surface operations.
• Conduct feasibility studies, economic analyses, and risk assessments for new and existing mining projects.
• Utilize advanced mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac) to create 3D models and optimize resource extraction.
• Collaborate closely with geologists, engineers, and operations teams via virtual communication channels.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mine planning and design, with exposure to both underground and surface mining.
• Proficiency in industry-standard mine planning and modeling software.
• Strong understanding of mining methods, geomechanics, and resource estimation principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
