About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Remote Network Infrastructure Specialist to join their team, operating entirely from a remote location within the UK. You will be responsible for the proactive management, configuration, and troubleshooting of network hardware and software, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and security, identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact service.
• Configure, install, and manage network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Perform regular system updates, patching, and upgrades to ensure network security and stability.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Provide remote technical support to internal users and external clients on network-related issues.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency network support and incident response.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Network Administrator, Network Engineer, or similar role with a focus on infrastructure.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), and network security principles.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and diagnostic utilities.
• Proficiency in configuring and managing enterprise-level network hardware from major vendors.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, essential for effective collaboration in a remote team setting.
