Remote Network Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Remote Network Operations Manager to lead their network operations center, operating entirely remotely, with an emphasis on leveraging talent across the UK, including from Reading . This leadership position is responsible for ensuring the continuous availability, performance, and security of our client's global network infrastructure. You will manage a team of network operations specialists, define operational procedures, and drive improvements in network monitoring and incident response. This role requires exceptional leadership, strong technical expertise in networking and operations, and the ability to thrive in a remote-first, fast-paced telecommunications environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a remote team of network operations engineers, providing guidance and support.
• Oversee the monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the company's network infrastructure 24/7.
• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices for network management.
• Manage incident response and ensure timely resolution of network outages and performance issues.
• Collaborate with other departments, including engineering and customer support, to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance network reliability, performance, and security.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in network operations , with a proven track record in a management or leadership role.
• Deep understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, firewalls, and network security principles.
• Experience managing distributed teams and working in a remote-first environment.
• Proficiency with network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds) and ticketing systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
