About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Remote Power Electronics Engineer to join their innovative research and development team. This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to the design and advancement of cutting-edge power electronic solutions. You will be instrumental in developing high-performance power converters, managing thermal aspects, and ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our client's products. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test novel power electronic circuits and systems, including AC/DC converters, DC/DC converters, and inverters.
- Conduct detailed analysis of circuit performance, including efficiency, thermal management, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
- Select appropriate components, such as power semiconductors (MOSFETs, IGBTs), magnetic components, and passive devices.
- Create detailed schematics, layouts, and documentation for power electronic designs.
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to integrate power solutions into larger systems.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in power electronics technology and propose innovative design approaches.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Electronics.
- Significant professional experience (7+ years) in the design and development of power electronic converters .
- In-depth knowledge of semiconductor devices, magnetics, and control techniques for power converters.
- Proficiency with simulation tools like SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, and PSIM.
- Experience with PCB layout tools and design for manufacturability considerations.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently and troubleshoot complex issues remotely.
