Remote Principal Cloud Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Principal Cloud Engineer to join their globally distributed team. This role is entirely remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere, while contributing to the design, implementation, and maintenance of their advanced cloud infrastructure. You will be at the forefront of cloud strategy, tackling complex architectural challenges, and driving innovation in scalability, security, and performance. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, highly available, and secure cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Develop and implement robust automation strategies for provisioning, configuration management, and deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Lead the migration of on-premises workloads to the cloud and optimize existing cloud environments for cost and performance.
• Establish and enforce best practices for cloud security, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and operational excellence.
• Mentor junior cloud engineers and provide technical guidance on complex cloud-related challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience.
• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with a minimum of 7 years focused on cloud technologies.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including their core services.
• Proven experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Strong proficiency in IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead technical discussions and drive consensus in a remote environment.
