About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Remote Process Optimization Engineer to drive efficiency improvements across their global operations. Working exclusively from home, you will analyze complex chemical processes, develop sophisticated optimization strategies, and provide expert recommendations to plant teams worldwide. This role demands a deep understanding of process dynamics, advanced simulation capabilities, and exceptional remote collaboration skills. You will be instrumental in enhancing productivity, reducing operational costs, and improving the sustainability of our chemical manufacturing processes from anywhere in the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of chemical process data using advanced statistical methods and simulation tools to identify optimization opportunities.
- Develop and implement tailored process optimization strategies to improve yield, throughput, energy efficiency, and product quality.
- Design and support virtual implementation of process control strategies and advanced regulatory controls.
- Collaborate effectively with plant engineers and operators across different sites via digital communication channels to implement recommendations.
- Prepare comprehensive reports detailing findings, proposed solutions, and expected benefits, including ROI analysis.
- Stay current with emerging trends in process intensification, digital twins, and AI applications in chemical engineering.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related quantitative field.
- Extensive experience (8+ years) in process simulation, optimization, and advanced process control (APC).
- Proven expertise with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, uni|optimize) and data analytics platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote setting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a strong focus on delivering tangible results.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data analysis and automation is highly desirable.
