Remote Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Remote Process Safety Engineer to bolster their safety initiatives across their operations. This role is critical for ensuring the highest standards of process safety are maintained, with a focus on risk assessment, hazard analysis, and the implementation of robust safety management systems. You will work collaboratively with site teams and management from a remote location, providing expert guidance and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct and review Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
• Develop, implement, and manage Process Safety Management (PSM) systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety legislation and industry best practices.
• Investigate process safety incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Provide training and support to site personnel on process safety principles and procedures.
• Contribute to the development and review of safety-critical procedures and documentation.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline with a strong emphasis on safety.
• Proven experience in process safety engineering, hazard assessment, and risk management.
• In-depth knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) principles and regulations (e.g., OSHA PSM, COMAH).
• Experience with various PHA methodologies and safety software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities, suitable for a remote role.
