About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Production Chemist to join their international operations team on a fully remote basis. This role is essential for monitoring and optimizing the chemical processes involved in oil and gas production, ensuring efficiency, quality, and environmental compliance. You will analyze production data, troubleshoot chemical challenges, and recommend solutions to enhance production performance and manage operational costs within the Oil & Gas sector . The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in industrial chemistry, particularly as it applies to upstream operations, and thrive in an independent, remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze production chemistry data, including water quality, corrosion rates, and scale formation.
- Develop and recommend chemical treatment programs to optimize production and prevent operational issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve chemical-related problems encountered in production facilities.
- Monitor the performance of production chemicals and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to chemical usage and discharge.
- Collaborate with field operations and engineering teams to implement chemical strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of chemical usage, performance, and costs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in production chemistry within the Oil & Gas industry .
- Strong understanding of oilfield chemistry, including scale, corrosion, and emulsion control.
- Experience with laboratory analysis and interpretation of chemical data.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively and manage responsibilities independently in a remote setting.
