Remote Production Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and analytical Remote Production Planner to join their supply chain and operations team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely production of goods by developing detailed production schedules, managing inventory levels, and coordinating with various departments from a remote location. You will be responsible for optimizing production flow, minimizing downtime, and ensuring that customer demands are met effectively. The ideal candidate will possess strong planning skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in production planning within a manufacturing environment, working effectively in a virtual team setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity.
• Coordinate with procurement, sales, and production teams to ensure timely availability of materials and resources.
• Monitor production progress, identify potential delays, and implement proactive solutions to keep schedules on track.
• Optimize production sequences to maximize efficiency and minimize changeover times.
• Manage and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production planning and execution.
• Utilize production planning software and tools to create forecasts and schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a Production Planner or in a similar role within a manufacturing setting.
• Strong understanding of production scheduling methodologies and inventory management principles.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and planning software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Effective remote communication and collaboration skills.
