About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and organized Remote Purchasing Officer to manage procurement activities from anywhere in the UK. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of supply chains by sourcing and procuring necessary goods and services efficiently. You will work closely with various departments to understand their needs, identify potential suppliers, negotiate terms, and manage orders, all while leveraging digital tools and communication platforms. Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end purchasing processes, including requisition, tendering, and order placement.
- Identify, vet, and onboard new suppliers, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve best value.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to delivery or quality.
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities and expenses in the relevant systems.
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders through virtual channels to fulfill their procurement requirements.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related supply chain role.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and manage supplier relationships remotely.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and virtual collaboration tools.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills suitable for remote interaction.
- Self-disciplined and able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
