Remote Quantity Surveyor - Construction

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quantity Surveyor to join their fully remote construction team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for managing all costs relating to construction projects, from initial calculations to final figures, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction. You will work closely with project managers and commercial teams to provide expert advice on contract, cost, and procurement matters, contributing significantly to the financial success of projects across the UK. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare bills of quantities, tender analysis, and cost estimates for construction projects.
• Manage contract administration, including variations, claims, and final accounts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations .
• Monitor project expenditure and cash flow, providing regular financial reports to senior management.
• Conduct cost-benefit analysis and value engineering to optimize project costs and identify potential savings.
• Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to secure favourable terms and conditions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant construction regulations and industry standards.

Requirements

• A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field, with substantial experience in a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC) and their application.
• Proficiency in cost management software and standard office applications.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage deadlines effectively in a remote work setting.
