Remote Quantity Surveyor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Remote Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team, providing expert cost management and contractual advice for construction projects from a home-based setting. You will be responsible for managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from initial calculations to final account settlement, working independently and collaborating digitally with project stakeholders. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who excels in financial planning and contract administration, ensuring the economic viability and successful financial completion of projects across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit detailed bills of quantities, cost estimates, and valuations for construction works.
• Manage contract administration, including tendering processes, contract negotiation, and the preparation of contract documentation.
• Monitor and control project costs, identifying potential risks and opportunities for cost savings throughout the project lifecycle.
• Administer payments to contractors and manage variations, claims, and final accounts effectively.
• Provide advice on procurement strategies and risk management to clients and project teams.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, legal requirements, and company policies in all financial dealings.

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as MRICS or CIOB is highly desirable.
• Demonstrable experience in quantity surveying, cost management, and contract administration within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC) and financial management principles.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills for effective remote client and contractor engagement.
