About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Automotive Software Engineer to join their expanding, remote-first engineering team. This role focuses on developing sophisticated software solutions for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving technologies. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and testing embedded software that operates within safety-critical automotive systems. Working from anywhere in the UK, you will collaborate closely with a distributed team of experts, contributing to the future of automotive safety and convenience through innovative software development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement real-time embedded software for automotive applications, particularly focusing on ADAS features.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in C/C++ for safety-critical systems.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging of software components and modules.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers and system architects to define software requirements and system architecture.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring adherence to coding standards.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and tools, supporting a fully remote workflow.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software development, with a significant portion in the automotive industry.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming and experience with embedded systems.
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, Automotive Ethernet, and AUTOSAR.
• Experience with software development lifecycles, version control (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and effectively in a remote , collaborative environment.
