Remote Senior Civil Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and self-motivated Senior Civil Design Engineer to join their fully remote team, supporting projects nationwide including those in the Portsmouth area. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who excels in a remote working environment and possesses strong technical design skills. You will be responsible for developing innovative and compliant civil engineering designs for a variety of infrastructure and development projects, collaborating virtually with project managers, clients, and other consultants. This role offers the flexibility of remote work combined with the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed civil engineering designs for infrastructure projects, including site development, drainage, and utilities, working remotely.
• Utilize advanced CAD and design software to produce accurate drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and technical reviews, communicating findings virtually.
• Ensure all designs comply with current UK building regulations, standards, and environmental legislation.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external agencies via online communication tools.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians in a remote setting.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• A minimum of 7 years' professional experience in civil design engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant civil design software.
• Strong understanding of UK drainage design principles, S38/S104/S106 agreements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adapted for remote collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a remote capacity.
