About the Role

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms for resource estimation and predictive analysis.
- Process and analyze large, complex datasets from various sources, including geological, geophysical, and operational data.
- Build robust data pipelines and automate data-driven workflows for resource modelling.
- Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and other stakeholders to define analytical needs and deliver insights.
- Communicate complex findings and model results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and their applications in the mining industry.
Requirements
- PhD or MSc in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist, with a focus on predictive modeling and statistical analysis .
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Proficiency in working with large datasets using SQL, Spark, or other big data technologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data visualization tools.
- Strong understanding of geological principles and experience in the mining or resource sector is highly advantageous.
