Remote Senior Drilling Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Drilling Engineer to join their globally distributed team, operating in a remote-first capacity. This role is critical for the planning, execution, and supervision of drilling operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. You will be responsible for designing drilling programs, managing drilling fluids, and overseeing rig operations from a remote location. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in complex drilling projects and a deep understanding of subsurface challenges, working collaboratively with field teams and management to achieve project objectives in the Oil & Gas sector .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive drilling plans and programs, including wellbore trajectories, casing designs, and cementing strategies.
• Oversee the selection and management of drilling equipment, services, and personnel.
• Monitor drilling operations remotely, providing real-time technical support and troubleshooting.
• Implement and enforce stringent health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.
• Conduct post-drill analyses and prepare detailed reports on performance and lessons learned.
• Manage drilling budgets and optimize costs without compromising safety or efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in drilling engineering, with a significant portion spent in operational roles.
• Proven expertise in well planning, directional drilling, and managed pressure drilling (MPD).
• Strong knowledge of drilling fluids, cementation, and well control principles.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and remote collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with industry regulations and best practices for Oil & Gas drilling .
